Q1.	What are the environmental benefits of geothermal power generation?
Ans:	Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source. It can offset part of the fossil fuels required for power generation and hence reduce the emissions from fossil power plants. The carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide emissions from geothermal power plants are much lower than those of coal-fired power plants.

Q2.	Is geothermal energy available in Hong Kong?
Ans:	No, there are no geothermal energy sources for power generation in Hong Kong.

Q3.	Is ground-source heat pump an efficient device?
Ans:	Yes, ground-source heat pump is an efficient system for heating and cooling of low-rise residential buildings. Its efficiency is higher than conventional heating or cooling systems.
