Solar Harvest - Solar Energy Support Scheme for Schools and Welfare Non-Governmental Organisations
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) launched the Solar Harvest in 2019 and helps install solar energy generation systems for schools and non-governmental welfare organisations for free. To enrich the teaching resources and support Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education in secondary schools, EMSD, in collaboration with the Environment and Ecology Bureau and the Education Bureau, develop a set of educational kits with a total of 8 themes for secondary schools. We hope that with the aid of the educational kits and solar energy generation system installed in schools, it will help enhance students' interest in science learning, as well as their knowledge on renewable energy and awareness of combating climate change.
